“Even for distinguished academics, submitting an article to a peer-reviewed journal can be stressful. For those at the outset of their academic careers, it’s a truly testing time. The editors here at proofreading ( http://www.proofreading.co.uk/ ).co.uk know what it’s like, because they’ve been there: all our editors who work on journal articles have PhD qualifications and most of us have had peer-reviewed articles published ourselves. Because of this, we feel that Proofreading.co.uk can offer both experienced and novice academics a proof reading ( http://www.proofreading.co.uk/ ) service which is second to none.
Our service doesn’t stop at the initial journal proofreading ( http://www.proofreading.co.uk/ ) of the article itself, though of course that’s the main part of the work that we editors do. Your text has to be meticulously checked for any spelling, punctuation or grammatical errors. Your editor will be a specialist in your subject, so that he or she can spot any errors in the technical terms particular to your field. Then, using the style guide supplied to you by the journal, we ensure that the formatting is exactly as required, including captions and references, before the article is returned to you for submission to the journal or journals of your choice.
In our experience, the process never stops there. It’s a fact in proofreading that the client will always come back for changes. Usually, the journals will ask for some details to be adjusted - perhaps a different word count, or a few paragraphs to be re-phrased. Occasionally, they ask for a whole different approach to the article.
It’s at this point that the second stage of our journal proofreading service begins. We continue to be available to you, to help make any necessary adjustments, proofread any new material, re-format the text for a different journal – whatever it takes. And in the majority of cases, this is all included in the original fee. We offer you a continuing support service until your chosen journal is happy and your article goes forward for publication.
Submitting a journal article can be a testing journey, but having a dedicated, knowledgeable and qualified editor to work with you makes it a much easier ride!”
