In the increasingly high tech world of complex electronic, mechanical, or military component manufacturers, the need for high tech help in transporting products safely from point A to point B has grown exponentially. "When a high tech product is vulnerable to physical hazards such as shock and vibration, or climate hazards like temperature or humidity, a traditional cardboard shipping box won't cut it," says Beth Bulger of Caseman, Inc., a market leader in expert shipping case design and distribution.
In a new video, Bulger explains the X,Y,Zs of custom shipping cases:
The first step is to assess the X-factors, or potential extremes, which can mean a product's extreme fragility to shock, drop, sway or vibration during transport, or the extreme conditions of its IT, military, or first responder field use, or a final destination in a harsh high or low temperature, air pressure or humidity environment. "First, we listen and assess all the variables," Bulger says.
Next step is a recommendation based on Your product/Your solution. "Not everyone needs a completely customized case," Bulger explains, "which is why stock cases are also an option for durable, high performance protection from the rigors of shipping and transport." Most Caseman shipping cases or rack and shockmount cases, however, are fully customized to the product's size, shape, quantity; the client's presentation, product branding, and transport needs; and the end customer's field use and storage needs.
"Of course, the final goal is the perfect case solution that results in Zero transport damage or performance loss," Bulger concludes. More complete details on the video can be viewed at vimeo address or www.caseman.com.
