Clean Energy Capital, a leading financial advisory service provider for the energy and infrastructure sectors, has completed a detailed analysis of the Huntington Beach desalinization project proposed by Poseidon Water LLC. In their report, Clean Energy Capital provides the Orange County Water District with an analysis of the proposal provided by Poseidon Water LLC in order to determine whether or not there is a cost benefit to the desalination project in Huntington Beach over the long term purchase of water to service the residents of Orange County.
Clean Energy Capital evaluated several elements in the report including the evaluation of the terms provided in the Poseidon Water LLC proposal as well as other financial and ownership scenarios including project debt vs. Equity by the Orange County Water District. In the report, Clean Energy Capital included a projected cost Orange County would likely pay for water over the proposed 30 year time frame in the project's proposal. In addition, direct comparisons were made between the Huntington beach desalination project and the Carlsbad desalination project that is currently underway in San Diego County.

"We believe that this is a project that the residents of Orange County and Huntington Beach specifically will support. We want them to know that we value their views and want to share information so that we can all be involved in making the best decisions for our community."
The report, which has been received and reviewed by the Orange County Water District, has now been made available to the public for review and comment in draft form. The intent of the release of the report is to inform the Orange County community and represent their views in policy decisions made by the Orange County Water District via the Board of Directors.
