Royal Lahaina Resort is one of the first resorts to be built in the West Maui town of Lahaina, and has witnessed - as well as abetted - the rise of Lahaina as one of the island's premier vacation and shopping hubs. The town occupies a desirable location, with much of the oceanfront taken up by the well-known Kaanapali beach. Due to the fact that Royal Lahaina was an early comer to the area, the Resort boasts a prime half-mile section of the beach, as well as grounds that stretch across 27 acres of lawns and gardens.
Unlike a number of Hawaiian hospitality establishments, the Resort doesn't target a particular clientele, being in equal demand among families, couples and other travelers. Nonetheless, its location and facilities have made it a popular Maui honeymoon hotel throughout the years; indeed, Maui is routinely named as one of the most desirable wedding and honeymoon spots not just in the U.S., but throughout the world.
In addition to being a prime location for honeymooners, the Resort also has a number of oceanfront wedding venues, and many couples choose to hold their marriage ceremonies there; others get married on the Mainland and book a Maui destination honeymoon at Royal Lahaina.
For the benefit of its newlywed guests, the Resort has recently published an informational article that highlights a number of "must-see" romantic landmarks on Maui.
These include a diverse variety of locations, ranging from Maui's highest peak to its most famous historic village; all these locations are also accessible by car, which makes them great for day trips.
The article begins by highlighting the peak of Mt. Haleakala, which, despite being over 10,000 ft. above sea level, has a gentle slope that has made it possible to build a road to the very top, making it an easy driving destination.
The article goes on to mention Maui's Upcountry, home to the island's longest side-by-side zipline, as well as a plethora of unique plants and animals.
The historic village of Hana is the next destination; in addition to being a worthy sight-seeing spot in itself, Hana has the distinction of being the end-point of the Road to Hana, widely considered the "Amalfi coast drive" of Maui due to the spectacular views it offers throughout its length.

About The Royal Lahaina Resort
The article is called “You Haven't Been To Hawaii If You Haven't Been To a Luau!” and it charts the history of the luau—from its beginnings to the celebrations often held to this day. One of the topics the article covers is all of the different types of food found at a luau. This section was included to show that while the modern luau has changed much from early days there are still familiar dishes available that are prepared in the classic way.
