Monterey, CA, October 02, 2014 - Carousel Candies on Fisherman’s Wharf, a popular candy destination for locals and visitors alike and was recently announced as the site of the Guinness World Records photo shoot for Nick Stoeberl who was judged to have the world’s longest tongue, is doing a very special Halloween Benefit event! All dressed up and decorated now for Halloween, Carousel Candies on Fisherman’s Wharf is teaming up with a benefit for the local non-profit organization, Community Partnership for Youth, with special Halloween Face Painting on Sunday, October 5th from Noon to 3:00 p.m. On Sunday, October 5th, 20% of proceeds will be donated to Community Partnership for Youth, a 501(c)3 non-profit. All attendees will receive a Halloween Treat Bag that day from Noon to 3:00 p.m. The Carousel Candies staff and Community Partnership for Youth face painters will be in Halloween costumes and the public is invited to come in a costume, too.
There will also be a special contest to guess the number of Halloween-colored jelly beans in a glass jar to win a $50 gift certificate to Carousel Candies, which is frequently featured on the A & E History Channel. There will also be a drawing for a special one-night Halloween Package at Lover’s Point Inn Hotel in Pacific Grove (the Elves’ other love that is also decorated for Halloween) that includes a large box of Halloween assorted chocolates in the suite.
According to Shari Hastey, Executive Director of Community Partnership for Youth, “We really love doing benefit collaborations with Carousel Candies on Fisherman’s Wharf . We appreciate their passion for helping the community and their sense of fun and creativity! Please come by October 5th - bring your children for a Halloween face painting. They may want a pumpkin, ghost or witch hat!”

Community Partnership for Youth (CPY) was created in 1991 to offer alternatives to drugs, gangs and violence. The prevention program builds resiliency, and works with the “whole” child, their families, schools and community agencies. CPY is “building a community one child at a time” through implementing a set of Standards based on integrity and respect that helps develop values and builds character. Middle school leadership/life skills, high school leadership/life skills/job preparation, after school tutorial/enrichment, a Visual and Performing Art Academy and summer all day sessions, are core programs that provide a supportive, structured, creative environment for each person to be successful.
