New York Plastic Surgeon Discusses Benefits of Sculptra® AestheticFeatured PR

Dr. Mark Schwartz offers Sculptra® Aesthetic to restore patient’s appearance
New York, NY, United States of America (sardnews.org) 19/02/2014
With age, many people experience significant loss of volume in the face, which leads to the appearance of sunken cheeks, and facial folds. While these signs of aging can be a concern, fortunately, Sculptra® Aesthetic can be an effective solution.

According to New York City plastic surgeon Dr. Mark H. Schwartz, Sculptra® Aesthetic is an anti-aging dermal injectable that is designed to restore lost volume and shape to areas on the face. It is used for areas such as the temples, the upper cheeks, the chin, and in areas of deep wrinkles. Sculptra® Aesthetic is injected into targeted areas of skin

Dr. Schwartz says that Sculptra® Aesthetic is FDA-approved, and extremely safe to use. He says that the injectable contains Poly-L-lactic acid, which helps restore lost collagen to the skin, giving the patient an extremely natural appearance. A topical anesthetic is administered during the treatment to reduce the patient's discomfort. Dr. Schwartz says some patients may be required to make several return office visits over the course of a few months. Sculptra® Aesthetic treatments will usually take 15 to 30 minutes to complete, making it a quick, easy solution for busy patients.

Possible side-effects associated with the treatment include pain at the injection site, redness, bleeding, bruising, itchiness, and swelling. Fortunately, these side-effects are temporary, and can be relieved with either ice packs or pain relievers. There is no downtime associated with the procedure.

While Sculptra® Aesthetic is extremely safe to use, Dr. Schwartz says that the treatment may not be best for everyone. Patients with sever allergies or skin infections should not be injected with this filler. The best candidates for this treatment are otherwise healthy patients who simply want to look more youthful, and feel more confident about their appearance.

While the final results of a Sculptra® Aesthetic injection may take some time to appear, Dr. Schwartz says they are worth the wait. He says the biggest advantage of this filler is its longevity, with some patients experiencing results for up to 2 years.
