"How to Select the Right Solid State Relay for Your Application" has been launched, along with many more helpful tutorials offered through the company's YouTube channel.
An SSR, or solid state relay, is an electronic switch that contains no moving parts and that has the same use as an electromechanical relay. In an SSR a small control signal controls a larger load current or voltage.
Solid state relays consist of a sensor which responds to a control signal, a solid state electronic switching device and a coupling mechanism. The switching device is used in order to switch power to the load circuitry. The coupling mechanism enables the control signal to activate the switch without any moving parts.
Solid state relays are ideal for repetitive applications due to the absence of moving parts. Sample applications for solid state relays include medical, HVAC, professional food equipment, theatrical lighting, industrial machinery, control panels, elevators and lifts, and I/O interfaces.
