Protect America, Inc., the nation's largest provider of wireless home alarm systems, is proud to support National Safety Month activities throughout the month of June.
Sponsored by the National Safety Council since 1996, National Safety Month seeks to raise awareness for safety related issues at work and home. Every year, an estimated 120,000 people die in preventable accidents, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC). The National Security Council is especially interested in eliminating traffic fatalities and work related injuries. The theme for this year's National Safety Month is "Safety Begins with Me."
"Safety is a fundamental aspect of home security and something that needs to be remembered," said Melissa Walker, Protect America's vice president of marketing. "People often neglect basic rules of safety and National Safety Month goes a long way in raising awareness."
Protect America will help celebrate the month by educating employees and customers about basic safety steps, like preventing trips, driving safety, and workplace illnesses. Employee education will take place in the form of seminars while Protect America customers will receive a comprehensive newsletter full of videos, articles, and links to additional information.
Wireless home security systems can greatly improve the safety of a home or place of business. In the case of an emergency, monitored alarm systems can be used to call for the appropriate authorities. Many security systems also include a panic button that can be activated in the event a user is incapacitated and alone. Parents can also help develop safe driving habits from their newly licensed teens with GPS vehicle tracking that conveniently reports speed and location.
