Drs. Gloria & Heidi Horsley on their nationally syndicated talk radio program the “Open to Hope Show” will announce the launch of their new forums.
Open to Hope opens a Pregnancy Loss Forum, in time for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, on October 15
Each year, one in three pregnancies ends in pregnancy loss, miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death. For those who mourn the loss of these lives, grief is poignant and results in a shattered reality with shattered dreams. The loss of a precious child is the most devastating loss to any parent.
It is important that these grieving parents go through the grieving process just as all other bereaved parents should. They need to feel what they feel and they need a support system, especially someone to talk to openly about what has happened.
Remember you will always love you baby; you will never forget him or her and some day the pain will ease.
The forum editor, Coralease Ruff, RN, manages the Pregnancy and infant loss Forum. Not only is she a bereavement facilitator, bereavement educator and author but she also experienced a pregnancy loss many years ago and the death of her 21 year old daughter, Kandy, nearly 15 years ago . She currently teaches grief and loss to nurses and other health professional students at Howard University in Washington, DC. She has been involved with The Compassionate Friends as a member, chapter founder, chapter leader, conference workshop leader and a member of the board of directors.
The forum is a place where those who have experienced a pregnancy loss (or those who love them) can come. They will be able to communicate with someone who will listen, share their pain and discuss issues. There will also be an opportunity to share facts and resources in this vital area. Most of all, I hope each one will realize "she is not alone".
