The Dance Gallery 2 is proud to carry on its tradition of celebrating the holiday season with the community. This year, the DG2 Award Winning Parade dancers continued their annual participation in several local holiday parades, including the Roseville Holiday Parade and the Loomis Day Before
Thanksgiving Parade.
At the end of November, 14 of these parade dancers represented the DG2 in Orlando, While in Florida, they worked with Tony Award-winning choreographer, Chris Cattelli for a televised performance of a special production number from the Broadway musical "Newsies." What an exciting opportunity! You can catch a glimpse of our local dancers on Christmas morning on ABC's " Disney's Christmas Day Parade". Plus, 24 holiday parade dancers will also take part in the Dance the Magic "Holiday Spectacular" parade down Disneyland's Main Street U.S.A. in Anaheim, CA on December 8th.
In addition, for the fifth year, the DG2 dancers are teaming up with the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots Foundation at their annual Holiday Revue Performance. Members of the United States Marine Corps will be in attendance at the Holiday Revue, as they work alongside the DG2 dancers to collect new, unwrapped toys for the national "Toys for Tots" campaign.
The Dance Gallery 2 feels privileged to once again assist the U.S. Marines in this special endeavor. Bring a new unwrapped children's toy to the DG2's Holiday Revue and be part of the spirit of giving.
The DG2's annual Holiday Revue will take place on Wednesday, December 12, at Mesa Verde Performing Arts Center, 7600 Lauppe Lane in Citrus Heights. This dazzling benefit event features dancers of all ages performing jazz, tap and hip-hop routines. The DG2's holiday parade dancers will also be performing as well as our wonderful nationally famed break-dance crew, The Stepboys! Show times are 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm; $11 donation tickets will be on sale starting December 3rd.
Tickets will also be available at the door on show night-while they last. Proceeds from this event have benefited the Sutter Memorial Hospital Child Life Program for over 20 years, and the DG2 is delighted to continue this tradition. The Child Life Program assists families whose children are seriously or terminally ill.
