The MV-1 is one of the first purpose-built wheelchair vehicles in the world. It is wider than standard sized vans to allow maneuvering once the wheelchair rider has entered the vehicle via the electronically controlled ramp. The passenger side can be occupied by a disabled passenger who can be positioned comfortably during the trip. The floor of the MV-1 is lower than conventional cars so that passengers in wheelchairs do not have a hard time moving up the side ramp.
