Dr. Roger Amar’s FAMI technique has provided rare longevity and predictability in rejuvenation procedures through the use of purified adult stem cells, injected into the core of a patient’s muscle.
Dr. Amar has perfected the FAMI approach through the use of a patient’s own mesenchymal stem cells. The FAMI technique came about 6 years ago. Dr. Amar uses the Fresh autologous mesenchymal integration grafting multipotent pre-adipocytes in order to restore all the layers of the face from bone to skin. This is because only autologous tissues can make natural rejuvenation and/or restoration of facial contours without deformities. When one uses artificial fillers and chemo enervation, those merely attempt to disguise the atrophic changes of aging. The FAMI technique cures facial atrophies and often provides an improvement in skin tone and texture.
Since the FAMI technique is performed without using a scalpel, no cutting, no sutures and therefore has much less potential for pain and complications such as infection and haematoma and absolutely no chance of scarring.
With the FAMI technique, there is no chance of tissue rejection, tissue reaction (granuloma or allergy), or transfer of infection from foreign material. Recovery using the technique is faster than any incisional method. It leaves little or no bruising and only a slight edema. One of the main components of the FAMI technique is the sensitive block anesthesia used in an outpatient basis that doesn’t include the motor Facial Nerve during the procedure.
Patient downtime runs from 5 to 15 days. FAMI recovery time matches recovery time of procedures such as artificial fillers, lasers or chemical resurfacing. A full face FAMI is needed only once and the results last indefinitely. The successful results are due to the high knowledge in facial anatomy and the use of a specific instrumentation.
