Fire Risk Assessments - Safety first is Safety AlwaysFeatured PR

It has become a fast paced world indeed and it is highly essential to look for risks surrounding us and our loved ones. Assessing the risk of fire has for obvious reasons become a regulatory norm in commercial and residential buildings.

Fire can really be fatal to a person's life, so fatal that it can raze down a skyscraper to nothing in a matter of a few hours. The whole world was a witness to the tragic 9/11 incident - the raging fire (8000 degree Celsius) drove hundreds of people to jump from the 80th and 90th floors of WTC. Now, that is just one example that we all are aware of. However, thousands of such accidents keep happening around the world every year with more and more human fatalities. In any workplace these days, be it in a corporate firm or in a production facility, highest priority is given to its Employee's safety. As a regulatory norm, all licensed firms are supposed to induct a new person joining their company to know the safety rules, and the most important of these Safety rules is being aware of the 'Exit' points in case of a fire.

It is the responsibility of the Employer to manage the risk of fire at the Workplace. Irrespective of the huge money spent on safe fire proof systems across the office premises, a Fire risk assessment would be a great step which would help to confirm that the precautions taken by the Employer are working properly. A Fire risk assessment is a basic 5 step assessment where you identify the potential fire hazard first and then identify the people that could possibly be affected because of it. Once the risk is analysed, document the same, and find out a solution to the risks in the event of a fire. Last but not least; it is very important that the identified risks are then checked on a regular basis to maintain the safety measures.

With the Regulatory Reform Order taking effect in the UK back in 2006, it has become mandatory that all business places must have conducted a Fire Risk Assessment. MK Fire training is highly experienced in offering Risk Assessments to employers and also fire safety advice to its employees.
