The Winter Olympics happens every four years. This gives athletes the opportunity to be in the best shape possible! Although these athletes are all winners in our book, many of the athletes were disappointed about their losses in this year's Olympics and wish they had done some things differently. One of these athletes is alpine ski racer and five-time Olympic medalist, Bode Miller. He analyzed every aspect of his disappointing performance in the downhill ski race, and found a major factor he would have changed to be getting laser vision correction surgery. After his performance, Miller said that when the slopes aren't too sunny, he can't see very well, and that he wished he had undergone LASIK vision correction surgery prior to his races.

"I was supposed to get an eye surgery earlier this year," Miller said. "We just never found a time to do it because the race schedule was so tight. We were pretty pissed off looking back that we hadn't found a time to do that. For me, my vision is critical. When the light's perfect, I can ski with any of the best guys in the world. When it goes out, my particular style suffers more than the guys who are more stable and don't do as much in the middle of the turn."

Miller made these comments after his Olympic race. After reviewing footage from his race, he couldn't pinpoint any big mistakes, other than his vision being impaired. He admits that if he had undergone LASIK eye surgery before the race, his vision would have been at its best and the sun wouldn't have been a factor in his loss.
