Drs. Gloria & Heidi Horsley on their nationally syndicated talk radio program the “Open to Hope Show” will announce their newest National Board Member.

Open to Hope National Board Member, Kathie Supiano is an Assistant Professor (Clinical) in the College of Nursing. She is the director of Caring Connections: A Hope and Comfort in Grief Program at the University of Utah College of Nursing. She has been a practicing clinical social worker and psychotherapist for over 30 years. Her clinical practice has included care of older adults with depression and multiple chronic health concerns, family therapy, end-of-life care, and bereavement care. In addition to counseling, she has worked in the areas of care management, elder abuse and neglect, smoking cessation, and nursing home advocacy. Kathie is a Fellow in the Gerontological Society of America, a Fellow of Thanatology, and a founding member of the Social Work Hospice and Palliative Care Network.

The Open to Hope Foundation offers the most comprehensive internet based grief community in the world, with over 3,000 articles, 400 radio shows, 300 contributors, and 100 you tubes. Open to Hope is committed to providing hope and resources to grieving individuals after loss, and serves over 2 million annual visitors, with 50,000 radio listeners. Founded by Dr’s Gloria and Heidi Horsley in memory of their son and brother, Scott.

Dr. Heidi Horsley, PsyD, LMSW, MS, is a bereaved sibling and a licensed psychologist and social worker. Dr. Heidi is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Open to Hope Foundation and an adjunct professor at Columbia University. She has a private practice in Manhattan, NY specializing in grief and loss. She serves on the National Board of Directors for the Compassionate Friends, http://www.compassionatefriends.org and on the advisory board for TAPS, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors of those who died in the military http://www.taps.org/ . She is also author of “Open to Hope: Inspirational Stories of Healing After Loss,” “Teen Grief Relief” and “Real Men Do Cry”. She holds graduate degrees from the University of San Francisco, Columbia University, and Loyola University in New Orleans.
